The University of Michigan Hospital wanted to make use of the existing land which had an approximate elevation change of 50 feet. Walltek Design Build, Inc. installed approximately 13,000 square feet of retaining walls which provided two new helicopter pads.
Due to the height of the retaining walls and the multiple tiers, global stability was a major factor. Staging the project was very difficult due to the location of the pad itself as there was only one access road in and out of the project. Walltek was successful at meeting the construction schedule on time and on budget.
