This new construction site could move mountains. Really. The existing mountain needed to be blasted away in order to begin developing the site located near Nashville, Tennessee. The Walltek Design Build team installed 80,000 square feet of Keystone Compac II retaining wall in order to raise the site to finished grade. In addition, Walltek needed to stabilize another 35,100 square feet of an existing soil and rock cut using rock anchors with shotcrete, soil nails with a vegetated Tecco facing and rockfall drapery.
The site was only accessible with cranes in order to install the rock anchors and soil nails. The crew had to repel down the mountain in military function order to install the rockfall drapery.
